Isa 34:5-8 | NASB2020 | STEP | For My sword has drunk its fill in heaven ; Behold it shall descend for judgment upon Edom , And upon the people whom I have designated for destruction .

Isaiah 34:5-8

5 For ^aMy sword has drunk its fill in heaven;
Behold it shall descend for judgment upon ^bEdom,
And upon the people whom I have ^cdesignated for destruction.
6 The sword of the Lord is filled with blood,
It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats,
With the fat of the kidneys of rams.
For the Lord has a sacrifice in ^dBozrah,
And a great slaughter in the land of ^eEdom.
7 ^fWild oxen will also ^{▼▼Lit go down}fall with them
And ^hyoung bulls with strong ones;
So their land will be ⁱsoaked with blood,
And their dust ^{▼▼Lit made fat}become greasy with fat.
8 For the Lord has a day of ^kvengeance,
A year of retribution for the ^{▼▼Or controversy}cause of Zion.
